I thought I'd post the body of my post in a comment, just so the blog's main page doesn't get too clogged up with large posts.
Personally I dislike the tediousness of checking the announcements sections of the four streams of the course. I think it would be more efficient if there was a list of recent additions (including any course material or information) in the main page of myuni with links to the additions.
Yeah...I totally agree with you stuart. It would really help if our lecturers could post an announcement about what's new on Myuni so we don't have to click the links of all 4 streams just to find out that there was nothing new.
But I guess I do understand that our lecturers might be busy people and might not have time for all this.
A recent editions list is a very good idea and i can honestly say the thought had also recently crossed my mind! Good work for expressing the idea and the Posting site for 'myuni' concerns in general.
Hopefully Sophie can give us some feedback on this idea now its posted. Would be good to know other peoples thoughts on this 'recent additions' idea - in favor or not? Also any good and bad points if any in putting this idea into action if it were possible. Cheers
Ok guys..... I am sorry to have to say this, but it is more streamlined for announcements to go up under each stream. I can understand your frustration on having to click 4 times, but I think that it may become more messy trying to track things if they are all mixed up on the one page. I am forever clicking everywhere as well, but I think that its just part of life now. I will bring it up with the rest of the tutors to see what they think as well.
The point that was raised in class today with regard to the congestion on MyUni, with information from the previous two years, is a very valid one and I will look into for you. Thanks for the feedback Sophie
I wasn't proposing that the sections for the four streams get merged into one, but rather that a list be automated so that it collates all of the additions from all streams in one place. At the moment I am logging in on a daily basis and checking in multiple places (the announcements and course material of each of the four streams) to see if there is anything new. I think it would be a lot easier to sign in and be able to determine that either "no, there have been no changes in the last three days", or "yeah, there have been two additions to clinical practice and an announcement in general studies". Just so you know *where* you need to check.

Now it's a matter of compromise.
