DLP

Hi guys, I'm finally on!!! Very exciting. Hope everyone is handling the new work load OK. I am beginning to freak out a bit. But a few long nights will hopefully help keep me afloat. Thought the DLP sessions today and last week were a really good way of learning. What did everyone else think? It feels like we are all just sharing our knowledge rather that sitting and memorising. Have a good weekend

Yeah, I've really been enjoying the DLP sessions too. You gotta hand it to the tutors too, I mean they know all the answers but are still able to let us do all the thinking without discounting anything or giving the slightest hint away.

My favorite sessions include DLP, and ofcourse clinical and lab practicals. I am really enjoying the course and i thank you for raising nice thoughts about just how enjoyable some of the learning sessions are.

With the workload progressing it is easy to forget how much fun we actually have. The fact that our class is made up of such a nice bunch of caring, helpful and fun people tops it all off!!

Hi Jules welcome to the blog. I love the DLP's to. The only thing i would change though is the venue, it would be awesome if we could do it in the small rooms, like where we have the DHS meetings. I think I could get into more without all the background noise of other groups. Or maybe our group just needs to get louder !!!

very, very good point Amy F. I actually mentioned that to my group lecturer last Friday. I made a note just now in my Rep diary to ask Mignon and Sophie if there are any close by rooms we could make use of.
It is very distracting with the background noise. Talking louder will only make other groups compete to be heard and get louder till the point of shouting.
Something needs to be done about this because all the hard work that is put into the study case is somewhat a bit of a waste when we can't hear each other speak so well.

There is potential to learn much more without the distraction.
Note to self..... Speak with Mignon and Sophie re. this matter. :)

Hi Guys

I am a liitle confused and need some clarity here. Are you referring to smaller rooms for clinic tutes or DHS tutes??? Please clarify. If it is DHS, then please let Katrina know. If you are requesting smaller rooms for Clinic tutes, then let Mignon know via email with a cc to me, as I have some ideas that we might be able to explore. Cant promise though but will try, as rooms are a rare commodity these days.

It would be the DHS DLP's on Fridays. I actually haven't noticed the noise (perhaps I'm in the group making all the noise, or just on the other side of the room ;) )

yes it is the DHS DLP sessions on Fridays. i will email Katrina and create a new post on any further updates on this idea.
It certainly does get noisy at the rear of the class where 2 groups
(one of which i am in) practically sit within meters of each other while having group discussions.

Stuart's group (sorry 'the funkeystu's group') is no doubt a bit quieter being the only group down that end of the class. So perhaps one extra small room (if available close by) would solve the noise distraction levels and benefit our learning.
